Methodology

In this edition of the State of Development Environments, we surveyed more than 550 professionals working in the software development space, who work at large companies and use development environments during their work. For this survey, large companies were defined as organizations with more than 1000 employees or more than 100 developers.

Responses were checked for logical and consistent responses, before being analyzed to produce the results of this research report. Demographic breakdowns for the survey respondents are shown in this chapter.
